The first Formula E World Championship: find out about SEGULA Technologies’ role in this extraordinary adventure
The future of motor racing is ready for the off! The time has come for the FIA (the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) to present Formula E, the first World Championship for 100% electric cars. Ten teams, twenty drivers and forty 100% electric single-seater cars will be at the starting line of the first e-Prix in China on 13 September.
At the 2010 Paris Motor Show, SEGULA Technologies unveiled the EF01, the first completely electric elite racing single-seater. After nearly two and a half years in development, this single-seater was designed to rival the performance of its renowned Formula 3 combustion engine counterpart.
For SEGULA Technologies, the EF01 was truly paving the way for a new generation of innovative competitive racing that was appropriate for a changing car market.
In the years that followed, the EF01 made numerous official appearances around the world, from the Principality of Monaco to the COP16 in Cancun, not to mention the Kremlin in Moscow, the Coliseum in Rome and the legendary track in Le Mans. Its performances were appreciated and celebrated by the biggest names in motor racing.
The EF01 prototype then served as a basis for developing other single-seaters that will be used for this first World Championship for 100% electric cars.
SEGULA Technologies is proud of having contributed to the advent of this new innovative and environmentally-friendly era in motorsports, and today it ranks as the engineering specialist of choice for developing new solutions for the future of motorsports, and for this new discipline.
